Rabbits in the Snow

I recall the very moment that I fell for you
Walking through the mud fields, feet damp from morning dew
We’d stopped to watch some rabbits playing in the snow
It was then I realised our love would grow and grow

It was like a clever secret that warmed my trembling heart
That I had found the one for me who never would depart
And as you took my hand in yours and gave me a soft smile
I realised I’d found what I’d been wanting all the while

We didn’t dance to Luck Gods, or thank the hands of Fate
There are lots of things about each other we’ve learnt to tolerate
But hard work, passion, laughter, and above all being kind
Means any troubles we’ve had have all been left behind

It’s not about two people just merging into one
Instead about the learning, the caring and the fun
We don’t believe in joining, or the blending of our minds
It’s all about the sharing of wonderful things we find

We’ve walked a lot throughout our lives on many different roads
As each other’s companions, sharing one another’s loads
It’s our laughter and adventures, and all the things we know
That make us just like rabbits, playing in the snow
